So, the 30th Annual was a lot of fun. Granted, it was a chilly weekend. Everyone was surprised at how quickly the temps dropped- but I had to keep reminding everyone," Hey! What kind of SKI PEEPS are you?!?!" As soon as I said that to a few folks, the smiles started up again. Everyone kept warm with Hot cider, delish' paella, and some dancing.
All the bands were jammin. Ratboy kicked it off and were EXTREMELY entertaining. They had a great sound and really pumped up the festival's start. Blues Maneuvers had a great, packed crowd and played all the local faves. Then...up from Brooklyn, Kara Suzanne and the Gojo hearts performed for the late-stayers, trying to keep warm, as the temps plummeted to the low thirties. brr. But...THEY were steamy- and that Kara Suzanne, as one admirable passerby stated, "was one tall, gorgeous, drink of water." Plus- they gifted me a few awesome CDs. sweeeet!
Sunday, the sun came out! Everyone loved the Saints of Swing! Renee Bailey's Star Spangled banner was beautiful... she wails, man. Love her. Next up, Detour... an awesome mid-day set. Tons of people were dancing and hanging out in the Beer Garden. I definately head-banged to their Teenage Waistland cover- like a rock star.
And then....The Trapps. ooooooooo, the Trapps. No words can describe. Just know that our department bought three copies of their current album. (and we are broke and prefer free stuff!)
They ROCK.
The Craft vendors were great...and the Zipline was so much fun. Check out the pick of the Beast on the Zipline. It gives you an idea of the fun we like to have up here at Belleayre... (come up anytime!)
Thanks to everyone for coming out. Make sure you mark your calendars for our Tap into Winter Party on our Tentative Opening Date of November 14th. More fun to be had!!!!!!!
Oh yeah- PS... it snowed here last week. So, get ready- it's coming!
